Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 September 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of DailyReport, an India-focused product of the DailyReport team (a child product of parent company Unitlabs). In these Terms, “DailyReport,” “we,” “us” means DailyReport / Unitlabs as they apply to this product. The Services include the website at https://dailyreport.observer, the Android app package observer.dailyreport.app, and related APIs at https://api.dailyreport.observer (together, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. The Service

DailyReport provides short-form news reading with explainable trust and conflict signals (India-first national, regional, and international lanes). Summaries and trust labels are coverage and corroboration signals — not a determination of truth or falsehood, legal advice, or investment advice.

Features may change. We may add, modify, or discontinue parts of the Services with reasonable notice when practical.

3. Accounts

Some features (including Plus purchases and sync) may require signing in with Google or another supported provider. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Provide accurate information and notify us of unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions (Plus)

Paid “Plus” features (for example ad-free reading, digest, or offline pack) are sold through Google Play billing where available. Prices, renewals, and cancellations follow Google Play’s subscription rules and the product listing at purchase time. Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policies unless applicable law requires otherwise.

We may change Plus pricing or benefits prospectively; changes do not alter an active billing period already paid through Play unless Play or law requires it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, overload, or disrupt the Services or APIs beyond normal app use;
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, Ops tools, or infrastructure;
  • Misrepresent DailyReport content as your own paid product;
  • Use the Services for unlawful, abusive, or deceptive purposes;
  • Reverse engineer the App except where applicable law allows.

6. Content and intellectual property

News headlines, excerpts, and links may originate from third-party publishers. Those publishers retain their rights. DailyReport’s trademarks, branding, UI, and original editorial packaging are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy the App or Site design systematically for a competing product.

Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Services without obligation to you.

7. Ads and third parties

The free tier may show advertising (including Google AdMob when configured) and sponsored or partner placements curated for the App. Third-party sites you open from stories are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or practices.

8. Disclaimer

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that summaries, trust labels, or conflict signals are complete, error-free, or suitable for any decision.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DAILYREPORT, UNITLABS, AND THEIR OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PLUS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) INR 2,000.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time and may request account or data deletion via our Data deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, abuse, legal risk, or service shutdown. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimer, liability, and governing law) survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
